About the presenter


Thomas is the workshop presenter for Beyond My Values - A Cultural  Competence Experience.  Over the years, he has had wide-spread impact on shaping policy and reforming attitudes concerning diversity and cultural values.   Thomas  served meritoriously as an Equal Opportunity Advisor in the US Army.  He served several years as the Civil Rights Coordinator with the SC Department of Social Services and later as the Cultural Competence Consultant for the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control.     He is a founding member of the Human Services-Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP) credential; a member of the AARP Multicultural Outreach Team; an elementary school reading tutor for the Midlands Reading Consortium; and a guest columnist for South Carolina Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy.
